NEWLY PROPOSED GUIDELINES FOR CURRENT + ASPIRING LASH ARTISTS

great news for the massachusetts lash extension industry!

The Massachusetts state board is working on two new registrations!

  • One for lash artists currently practicing without a license

  • One for aspiring lash artists that prefer not to go through a Cosmetology [1,000 hours] or Aesthetics [600 hours] program

These new guidelines will benefit businesses, artists, aspiring artists and customers, alike. To review the Massachusetts state board meeting minutes and learn more about the proposed programs, click here.

Proposed programs

20 Hour Proposed Course

This solution will help lash artists without a valid Cosmetology or Aesthetics license to comply and take a course at specific board approved schools. This program is specifically for unlicensed lash artists that have proof of experience. It will consist of 20 hours and upon completion, the student would receive their lash registration/license. The suggested timeframe to comply is one (1) year.

80 Hour Proposed Course

This solution is for aspiring lash artists who do not prefer to go through a Cosmetology [1,000 hours] or Aesthetics [600 hours] program in order to offer the service of lash extensions. This program is specifically for anyone interested in joining the lash industry and has no license and no experience. Upon completion, the student would receive their lash registration/license.

After attending either program, not only will students receive their lash registration/license, they will also learn the art of lash lifting and tinting to add to their service menu!
